Gun Laws
In the past we have had a few problems where the Illinois government has threatened to change the gun laws on the citizens of Illinois. I vaguely remember a time in particular that my dad was worrying about having to personally transport the weapons to a family member out of state so that he could keep his guns. Fortunately the government was not able to do anything with that and we were able to keep our guns, but this is a major thorn in our side. Gun activists everywhere are saying that "we need stricter gun control laws" but in reality the government needs to lighten up on everything when it comes to this subject. I hear people argue constantly about how guns kill people, but in reality guns do not kill people because the gun does not have a mind of its own and can not consciously make itself fire. It requires a person to pull the trigger and usually its a bad person behind said gun. So why punish the people who have guns registered to the state, who pay taxes on ammo and the firearm when purchased. Bad people are going to get the guns either way so why not make laws more lenient for the american public who legally acquires these weapons. Gun control laws will get us no where, it will anger the hunting community because of outrageous taxation on the the ammo and it will anger the gun collecting community and the recreation shooters. Don't make the people angry government officials because remember we are the ones that gave you a chance in office we do not have to re-elect you if you make us angry. And just remember blaming a gun for killing people is like blaming a pencil for misspelled words.
