For all of you who are starting to get into hunting or has a family member trying to get you into the sport there are a few tips you should learn to live by. These tips will help you be a successful hunter and they are: Get there early, Stay out there late, Be quiet, and Don't smell.
Earliness is the key to any hunt since you only have so many hours in the day. I personally like to arrive out in my stand at least a half hour to an hour before sun rise. This is to allow you to get to your stand and adjust yourself so that everything is where you need it to be. Also being out there allows for the timber to return back to the way it was relatively quickly before you got there.
Staying late is also a great tip to live by because the best time to get a big deer is when the sun comes up and when it goes down. This is due to the amount of light available for the animal to see you, since you have camouflage on the deer's eyes will have a harder time picking you up from a distance. This is also the time when they are most active since it is when the deer feed.
Being quiet is the most important tip to live by though. Deer have an incredible sense of hearing and if the day is calm they can hear just about anything. I personally turn my phone to silent so that it makes no sound, not even a vibrate to help reduce the chance of being busted by any deer.
Before you go out make sure you do not put on anything that will make you smell good to a human, because these smells are not natural the deer will pick these scents out immediately and you will get a first had experience of them waving bye bye to you with the big white tail.
Hope these tips are useful for you guys and hope you bag the deer of a lifetime, good luck and happy hunting.
